Since my last blog post here is an update on my journey to promote the 3 E’s (Ethical, Effective Entrepreneurship):
1) I met Lord Digby Jones (The New Troubleshooter) at Elite Business Conference and Exhibition in April this year. Lord Digby is a strong supporter of SMEs and the important role they play in achieving a strong economy. In addition to this what makes The New Troubleshooter even more interesting is the fact that he used to be a practising solicitor. As a fellow lawyer it’s good to see other leading figures in the law who just like me have the entrepreneurial streak and passion for all things business. I thought he would appreciate a copy of my book which I decided to send him and sure enough he very kindly acknowledged it with a personal hand written letter and a copy of his excellent book called Fixing Britain The Business of Reshaping Our Nation. I was delighted to read that my book was found to be an interesting read!
2) On the 21 and 22 September 2014 I attended the Entrepreneur’s Convention at the I.C.C. Birmingham. Award Winning Entrepreneur Nigel Botterill and team delivered a Convention that was packed with useful information to assist the entrepreneur and SME business owner in achieving success. The headline speaker was the brilliant Steve Wozniak who together with Steve Jobs founded Apple. The 2 partners can be found in my book which has a chapter on 10 of the greatest entrepreneurs of all time. Do you have a list if so why don’t you share it with us? Nothing beats hearing from the best and rubbing shoulders with other aspiring entrepreneurs. Talking, sharing ideas and collaborating is at the heart of healthy entrepreneurship.
3) Soon after the Convention I met John Warrillow for breakfast to catch up and to run over some ideas I had in mind. John made me see something from a different angle and introduced a better proposition to the mix! It’s important to believe in your plans but at the same time invaluable to have a mentor you can turn to if you need honest feedback and guidance.
