Great to have seen Randi Zuckerberg on stage at the London Law Expo 2015 and have her sign my copy of Dot Complicated which I featured here in January 2014. Randi is high energy and connects with the audience a pleasure to hear her present.
I’d like to share 10 points I picked up on the day:
1) We are living in a time of the “entreployee” – when employees need to be thinking like entrepreneurs.
2) Think like a media company – what messages are you sending out?
3) Think alternative pricing strategy if applicable:
4) TRUST equals CREDIBILITY + RELIABILITY + INTIMACY / SELF INTEREST
5) Don’t be all things to all people. Create a strong and meaningful brand and communicate this to your particular market as effectively as possible via your team.
6) Build a STRONG CULTURE to drive your BRAND VOICE. Your CULTURE is fundamental to your success as it is the team that will help make your business a success.
7) Have regular “hackerthons” like Facebook did where the team are encouraged to come up with ideas to improve the business. Ideas should be encouraged rather than frowned upon. Staff shouldn’t be made to feel that their ideas are too stupid to share.
8) You need to be adaptable and embrace change to create new opportunities.
9) Create unique client experiences. Providing a good service is just not enough it’s expected!
10) The cost of acquiring new customers is 6 times the cost of retaining existing clients. Make sure that your existing customers receive a POSITIVE EMOTIONAL CONNECTION.
All the best
